We are pleased to present this selection of paintings and sculpture for the benefit of Right Start, a non-profit organization created 15 years ago focused on providing supplemental education like tutorial services and creative classes, as well as safe spaces, for underprivileged students in Metro Manila. Currently, their programs support over 300 students.
Carlos would like to thank you all for your support towards this very worthy cause.
Born in 1950, Carlos Rocha grew up in a deeply artistic environment shaped by his architect father Julio Victor Rocha and figures such as Vicente Manansala, Victorio Edades, and Onib Olmedo. He began his career as a sculptor in the 1970s and 1980s, focusing on movement and the dignity of work through figures like fishermen and musicians.
In the 1990s, he turned to painting, developing a Fauvist style marked by vivid color and a celebratory view of life. In 2022, he expanded into digital work with a debut NFT collection, while his art continues to appear in major institutions, hotels, and exhibitions both locally and abroad.
